Registration Deadline for Regional England Development Squad Talent ID Days Extended
After a successful England Coaches Seminar at the weekend, it was requested by all in attendance to extend the deadline for players to register for the Regional England Development Squad (REDS).
The attached form (see the bottom of the page) gives a brief overview of details, including where the Talent ID days will take place, eligibility criteria and the link to follow to register for the session.
The REDS sessions have been structured over 3 regions, Northern, Central and Southern and once the squads have been formed, training will take place on the first weekend of every month, within the regions.
This new strategy will enable us to engage a larger group of aspiring athletes at the bottom of the Performance Pathway. Players will be able to access more sessions with some of those sessions now localised.
England Judo will be staging three Talent ID events at the following locations:
SKK Judo Club, WA12 9NH – Saturday 13th 2018
BJA Centre of Excellence, Walsall, WS1 3TA – Saturday 13th January 2018
Dartford Judo Club – Sunday 14th January 2018
To be eligible for the events, athletes must be born in 2004, 2005 or 2006:
Minors players – Year of Birth: 2006 ONLY, must be minimum grade of 7th mon
Pre-Cadet Players – Year of Birth: 2005 & 2004, must have entered the British Championships and therefore be a minimum grade of 10th mon.
Athletes must hold a current BJA or affiliate membership.
