Over 120 judoka packed out the Castle Suite at the Waldorf Astoria in Edinburgh for  Dr George Kerr CBE 10th Dan’s 80th birthday celebration.

The event was held in the beautiful Castle Suite at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Edinburgh.

The tables were laid out in typical judo fashion and were named after various places that George has lived and competed in.

George was welcomed into the suite in typical Scottish fashion: bagpipes! 

The winner of a game of Head or Tails that raised over £500.00 for Marie Curie.

Scotland’s 1999 World Champion Graeme Randall was on hand to begin the proceedings for the evening

The evening was expertly compered by Scottish Sports Broadcaster, Alison Walker

George was the lucky recipient of a number of gifts from delegates attending the evening

No birthday celebration is complete without a heart chorus of “Happy Birthday”
