Many thanks to Middlesbrough Judo Club for the write-up

Middlesbrough Judo welcomed the children, staff and parents from Middlesbrough Sportability Club, a local charity who provide  sport and leisurely activities for children with disabilities aged between 8 and 19 years of age. It is open to all young people with a learning disability, as well as physical or sensory impairments.

Seventeen members of the club came along and took part in a taster session, with help from coaches and members of the club they went through a warm up and learnt why this is important, learnt some of the Japanese terminology for Judo and why it used in the sport. Then they moved on to some throwing work on the crash mats, finishing off with some fun and games.
